The 7 Things You Should Be Talking About Today

1. Doug Jones won, now what

— Roy Moore has still not conceded, but there will be no recount
— Donald Trump will now be the sole target of people harping on past sexual misconduct
— The Senate is now in play in 2018, Democrats are fired up

2. What happened was

— Donald Trump’s popularity has plummeted, even in Alabama (48-48 favorable/unfavorable)
— Republican share of the electorate shrank, as it has with most of 2017 special elections
— 64 percent of voters said the allegations were important to their vote, most of those voters went overwhelmingly for Jones

3. Doug Jones wins

— 671,151 votes to topple Roy Moore by a 50-48 margin
— Black turnout was 30%, higher than 2012
— Roy Moore has still not conceded

4. Roy Moore was done in by write in votes

— Alabama Senator Richard Shelby and others advocated Republicans write-in another Republican
— Roughly 23,000 write-in votes , Moore lost to Doug Jones by about 21,000 votes
— Write-in votes accounted for 0.12 percent of votes in 2012, 1.7 percent of yesterday’s votes were write-ins

5. Alabama Democrat Party is inept as all get out

— At 4:10 PM on election day the state party sent out an e-mail saying polls open on Wednesday at 7:00AM
— Four minutes later another e-mail stated, “It’s Election Day! Polls are open until 7:00 p.m.”
— I made a joke about this in ’09 and then-AG tried to put me in jail

6. Sen. Kristen Gillibrand is a snowflake who can’t take criticism

— Sen. Gillibrand has led the charge in asking for President Trump to resign
— Trump fires back by pointing out that Gillibrand sought and took donations from him
— He Tweeted that she “would do anything” for donations, many view that as a sexist comment

7. Federal government collects record revenue

— The federal government collected record total tax revenues of $443,715,000,000 in the first two months of fiscal 2018
— The federal government still ran a deficit of $201,761,000,000
— A tax cut is currently being pushed through Congress and Republican leaders say a spending cut is coming too

Hate at 8!!: The media continues to learn nothing, still pounding Trump constantly

— Media Research Center has found of Trump has been 91% negative during the past three months
— The same percentage of negative news stories was found in June, July and August as well
— Much like Roy Moore in Alabama, President Trump will receive almost all negative press
