Donald Trump said Wednesday he was “very troubled” by the fatal police shooting late last week in Oklahoma of an unarmed black man and suggested the officer in question “got scared” or was “choking.”
Trump offered his first public reaction to the shooting during an event at the church of Pastor Darrell Scott, a black supporter who asked Trump for his reaction to the police shootings of black men in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Trump began his response by praising police and noting he has been endorsed by several law enforcement groups, but added that “you always have problems.”
“You have somebody in there that always makes a mistake, that’s bad or that chokes,” Trump said, using a term he often uses to describe somebody who falters under pressure.
That’s what it looks like.
Hillary Clinton on Wednesday called the recent shooting deaths of black men at the hands of police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Charlotte, North Carolina, “unbearable” and said the nation can and must do better.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Orlando, Florida, the former first lady and Democratic presidential nominee avoided discussing details of both cases but said the nation should not tolerate such tragedies.
“There is still much we don’t know about what happened in both incidents, but we do know we have two more names to add to a list of African-Americans killed by police officers in these encounters,” she said. “It’s unbearable, and it needs to become intolerable.”
What? These cases aren’t all the same. She knows better than this.
She only knows how to pander, he only knows how to shoot from the hip.
Calculated dishonesty so she can try to get votes vs. foolish crassness because he can’t control himself…
