Voting one’s conscience is always the right thing to do – Taxpayer Tom

The lottery issue in Montgomery has caused lots of talk about whether a lawmaker should vote his conscience or accede to what he perceives to be the opinion of his constituents.

This reminds me of a small district in one of our western states whose only residents are a legislator and two wolves and one sheep.

The carnivore lobby in the capital is agitating for a referendum giving the folks in the districts more authority on creating lunch menu’s.

The legislator has received two emails supporting the referendum and only one against.

Should the sheep be nervous?
