The Dale Jackson ShowPrep for June 28th, 2016…

  • 8:00 AM – Doctor of Political Science, Waymon Burke to discuss the Presidential election and Alabama politics.
  • 9:00 AM – Alabama State Representative Ed Henry to talk about abortion clinic bill, which is pretty similar to the one the Supreme Court recently blew up.

Inflammatory headline, nails the issues at hand in America…

Alabama has an abortion bill in the court system, much like the Texas bill, AG Luther Strange is giving up on it

Attorney General Luther Strange said his office will drop its appeal in a case on an Alabama abortion law because of today’s ruling on a Texas law by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Strange said the Texas law is nearly identical to an Alabama law that required abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a hospital in the same city that they perform abortions.

“While I disagree with the high court’s decision, there is no good faith argument that Alabama’s law remains constitutional in light of the Supreme Court ruling,” Strange said in a statement.

“Accordingly, my office will dismiss our appeal of a 2014 federal court ruling declaring Alabama’s abortion clinic law unconstitutional.”

The Supreme Court ruled 5-3 that the Texas law was unconstitutional because it placed an undue burden on women’s right to seek an abortion.

Speaker wannabee, Phil Williams, still speaking on larger issues in the Alabama State House

State Rep. Phil Williams said he would urge the governor to call a special session on ethics reforms if he was chosen as the next speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives.

Williams, a Republican from Huntsville, is one of a handful of lawmakers who have said they want to succeed Mike Hubbard in the powerful position as leader of the 105-member House.

Williams is the only one in the group who put his name forward to replace Hubbard last year, before Hubbard’s conviction on ethics charges.

Williams said he considered himself a longshot candidate because of his views.

“I’m the guy standing for change,” he said. “I think the members know a vote for me is a vote for a complete overhaul of the system, and the system is broken.”

“We’ve got a real mess on our hands.”

Williams is a real estate investor. Before that he operated and sold two businesses, most recently one that focused on wireless data transmissions. He spent 18 years as a contract specialist with the federal civil service.

Tax cuts work

Over the same calendar year, Forbes has reported that Alabama’s northern neighbor, Tennessee, experienced an $800 million surplus in tax revenue. When Alabama and so many states across the country are struggling to make ends meet, how on Earth did the Volunteer State manage to pull off such a feet? The answer lies in the pro-growth formula enacted by the state that is straight out of Ronald Reagan’s playbook.

The centerpiece of Tennessee’s structure is the sales tax which is the state government’s main source of revenue. Government receipts from the sales tax have consistently exceed even the most optimistic economic models, totaling $33.5 million more than estimates for the month of May 2016 which is 6.49 percent higher than in May 2015.

Those statistics are surprising on their own. But perhaps the most shocking piece of the puzzle – and most convicting of liberal thought – is that this revenue boom was achieved without levying an individual income tax. Despite failing to punish individuals for their hard work, Tennessee has a year-to-date growth rate of 7.81 percent and is seeing a positive surge of wealth migration.

Al-Queda suggests the targeting of whites, to avoid “hate crime” label

Lone wolf jihadists should target white Americans so no one mistakes their terror attacks for hate crimes unrelated to the cause of radical Islam, Al Qaeda writes in the latest edition of its online magazine.

In an article first reported by The Foreign Desk, Al Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) called for more self-directed Muslim terrorists to kill in America. But the article, titled “Inspire guide: Orlando operation,” tells terrorists to “avoid targeting places and crowds where minorities are generally found” because if gays or Latinos appear to be the targets, “the federal government will be the one taking full responsibility.”

More bad news for Hillary…

Probably means more promises of free stuff…

This is on top of her $400 BILLION refugee plan…

Trump continues to lead Hillary in super-competitive swing states… like… Texas…

Expect more of this…

Importantly, neither party loves their nominee…

Remember, Republicans haven’t done anything to stop Obama…

Ryan should have shut off lights and jammed cellphones…

Maybe he will next time.

If you see something, say something, but you better be PC about it… Especially if you are a cop…

People are calling and e-mailing the court in support of Judge Roy Moore, this isn’t how courts work…

The same should be said about the swimmer in California, but won’t be.

Auburn and Alabama T-shirts sell out…

The T-shirts show the Alabama and Auburn logos over an image of the state of Mississippi.

Ashley told the T-shirts weren’t sold. An earlier conversation with a woman who answered the phone laughed and asked if the call was about Alabama and Auburn T-shirts. She said those T-shirts had sold out.

Or not….

There was a problem with the vendor’s “screen plant.”

That’s what was told when calls were made to an Oxford, Alabama, Dillard’s store on Monday afternoon.

“There was an incorrect screen print,” said Ashley, who said she was a manager at Dillard’s but didn’t want to give her last name. “We received them and realized it was incorrect. They took them off the floor.”
