Parker Griffith is shown some big time love from the GOP…
House Minority Leader John Boehner will be headed to The Tennessee Valley to hold a fundraiser for “The Good Doctor”…
That will put some butts in the seat (sarcasm). What this does do is show that a deal was cut with the national GOP to try and save Griffith’s bacon.
Here’s an odd thing, isn’t 100 bucks kinda low? State Board of Education candidate Mary Scott Hunter is having a fundraiser for $200 a head.
This is less about money and more about the appearance of national GOP support.
He is known as one of the most conservative members of the House and works closely with the Alabama delegation on Defense issues that affect both Florida and Alabama.
“I am endorsing Parker Griffith for Congress today because of his proven conservative record in opposing the liberal Pelosi agenda.” said Miller. “Over the past year Parker Griffith has joined with me in opposing the current Healthcare Reform package, the Cap and Trade Bill, the Stimulus Bill and measures to increase our national debt. I have worked closely with Dr. Griffith to fight this agenda and to support the National Defense and Intelligence programs so vital for our nation and our communities and I look forward to working with him in the future.”
I wonder what this guy knows about Mo Brooks or Les Phillip. Did he talk to them?
What does he know about Griffith?
Obviously nothing.
- Griffith screwed the district by resigning or being kicked off important committees, including the transportation committee.
- Griffith lies (Really!)… he said he did no polling after he said he did do polling, he said he saw no polling and then acknowledged he saw a poll for a candidate for governor that showed Rs with a 46-27 lead over Ds in AL-05. LIAR!
- Griffith has changed his position on important issues… health care (you heard that here first), taxes, the war and card check.
- He’s a political opportunist.
Doesn’t matter, he has an R after his name.
Just a point of order…
Parker Griffith is more liberal than Alabama’s Democratic Congressman Bobby Bright…
Five current Democrats ended up to his right, all representing districts that John McCain easily carried in the 2008 presidential race: Bobby Bright of Alabama – who had the most conservative voting record among House Democrats; Gene Taylor and Travis Childers of Mississippi; Jim Marshall of Georgia; and Dan Boren of Oklahoma.
– Mr. Bright, in fact, compiled a rating more conservative than a dozen Republicans who served in the House in 2009 – including Parker Griffith of Alabama, who switched to the Republican Party in December after being elected as a Democrat, and John McHugh, who resigned his seat last year to become Secretary of the Army in the Obama administration.
Ok, you GOP hacks answer this… How do you attack Bobby Bright now?
AND FINALLY…
Keyword: Integrity.
Awesome.
How do you destroy any momentum for the pro-gambling crowd in Alabama?
Bring in Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton…
Proponents of electronic bingo are planning a march and rally Saturday in Montgomery with the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton.
Former Tuskegee Mayor Johnny Ford said Monday that he and Montgomery businessman Greg Calhoun are organizing the event, and they expect participation by some congressmen and other elected officials who are headed to Selma for Sunday’s 45th anniversary of Bloody Sunday.
School uniforms?
Yes please.
Now please trot out some 14 year olds to tell me about FREEDOM!
Amy Bishop’s mom speaks…
The emotionally wrought mother of accused mass murderer Amy Bishop briefly broke her silence yesterday about the Feb. 12 tragedy at the University of Alabama, telling the Herald through agonizing sobs, “We are just having an awfully hard time with this.
“We’re sick about it,” said Judith Bishop, 69, whose husband, Samuel Bishop, 73, is seriously ill, according to sources close to the Ipswich couple.
“I just can’t talk about this right now,” she said. “I’m so sorry. I just can’t.”
Judith Bishop has come under fire because of her refusal to address publicly her 45-year-old daughter’s alleged rampage at the Huntsville, Ala., campus, as well as her fatal shooting of her 18-year-old brother, Seth, in 1986.
And this little tidbit is new…
Detectives reviewing crime scene photos with fresh eyes took special note of a National Enquirer clipping in Amy Bishop’s bedroom about “Dallas” star Patrick Duffy’s parents being murdered with a shotgun on Nov. 18, 1986, in Montana – just weeks before her brother was blown away at point-blank range in their kitchen.
Unbelievable.
House Democrats who voted against ObamaCare could be prodded to vote for it…
In interviews with the AP, at least nine of the 39 Democrats — or their spokesmen — either declined to state their positions or said they were undecided about the revised legislation, making them likely targets for intense wooing by Pelosi and Obama. Three of them — Brian Baird of Washington, Bart Gordon of Tennessee and John Tanner of Tennessee — are not seeking re-election this fall. The others are Rick Boucher of Virginia, Suzanne Kosmas of Florida, Frank Kratovil of Maryland, Michael McMahon of New York, Scott Murphy of New York and Glenn Nye of Virginia. Several lawmakers’ offices did not reply to the AP queries.
A look at seniors’ views on Health Care…
▸ Just 25% of Seniors agree that our health care system is in need of a “complete overhaul.”
▸ Only18% of seniors say the role of the federal government is to “provide government-run health care to all Americans.” Seniors much prefer a more limited role, “assisting those Americans who can least afford health care coverage to purchase it” (36%), while a plurality (41%) believe it is not the federal government’s responsibility at all.
Today, nearly six out of ten Seniors (57%) oppose the health care plan being developed by President Obama and Democrats in Congress. In fact, a near-majority (46%) are “strongly opposed” to the plan.
By a significant margin Seniors side with Republicans, sharing the view that it is time to look at the health care reform process anew:
Who do you agree with more…
35% President Obama and Democrats who support comprehensive health care reform and want to pass a version of the House and Senate bills.
59% Republicans in Congress who want to start the health care reform process over and focus on areas of agreement and smaller pieces of legislation.

So are you for or against school uniforms?
It is not the proper time for the national wing of the Republican Party to get involved with local politics. When it is a primary they need to stay out. When it is Republican against Democrat give some support to the Republican that WE have chosen to run.
