  1. Makes you nervous when THEY don’t even know who is in their own party.

    • If I posted half the crap I got from the NRCC it would amaze you…

      For instance…

      From: Andy Sere [mailto:asere@NRCC.org]

Subject: 3 Tennessee Valley Democrats walk into a bar…

“Three Democrats finally ended the guessing Tuesday, announcing they would run for the seat held by U.S. Rep. Parker Griffith, R-Huntsville…Ending seven weeks of speculation, Steve Raby, a political consultant and longtime congressional insider, said he intends to run for Griffith’s seat…Taze Shepard, a Huntsville attorney and the grandson of the late U.S. Sen. John Sparkman of Huntsville, did the same. So did Mitchell J. Howie, a Huntsville attorney.” (Challen Stephens, “Dems gain 3 for 5th District,” Huntsville Times, 2/10/10)

NRCC Comment: “Want to hear a joke? A taxpayer-funded liberal lobbyist, a silver-spooned child of privilege and a transient trial lawyer walk into a bar and leave so inebriated that they all think they can be elected to Congress in the Tennessee Valley.” – Andy Seré, spokesman

      STEVE RABY

Taxpayer-funded lobbyist: “Huntsville has two other lobbyists…Steve Raby…earns $75,000 a year as a special consultant who splits his time between Washington and Montgomery.” (Steve Doyle, “City rehires lobbyist,” Huntsville Times, 10/23/09)

Liberal: According to federal contribution records, Raby has donated money to some of the Democrat Party’s leading liberals: Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, John Edwards and Obamacare author Max Baucus.

      TAZEWELL SHEPARD III

Silver-spooned child of privilege (if you couldn’t already tell by his name alone): According to the biography on his law firm’s website, Tazewell was born in Washington, the grandson of a senator. He was educated in Britain at prestigious Eton College and received his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth, an Ivy League school in New Hampshire. President Clinton appointed him to the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington (translation: free tickets to the best ballet in town).

      MITCHELL HOWIE

Transient trial lawyer: According to his LinkedIn profile, Howie moved to Huntsville less than a year ago after moving from North Carolina, and from Texas before that. Howie’s law firm specializes in suing small businesses and helping Alabamians get divorced.

How is any of this any good, it’s crap and it’s petty garbage.

  2. Dale, how you must be thrilled that Parker Griffith is back on WVNN. I heard the commercial yesterday, and I spit out a mouthful of coffee when I heard him say that he fought Barack and Pelosi the entire time he was up there. Except for, of course, when he voted for both of them. (Barack in the general, and Pelosi for speaker) Oh wait I remember, he only voted for Pelosi so he could get some commitee assignments, so he could have some influence, so he could fight her. That’s why it was so important for him to take a moral stand and give up those committee assignments by switching parties.

It doesn’t make sense to me either, unless you change the ad slightly.

Parker Griffith, fighting for Parker Griffith.

  3. Yet another reason to keep your political contributions local. Something happens to people’s brains when they spend too much time close to DC, where the NRCC is headquartered. If you are willing to influence politics with contributions, then choose to contribute to candidates and not parties. Your effect will be greater and there is less chance that your money will be wasted.
